Dinuka Ranasinghe, owner and director of Kid Works Children's Center in Long Beach, CA, first experienced mindfulness practices when Cary was her son's classroom teacher. Since 2/2016, Cary has taught weekly classroom lessons in mindfulness and yoga to these preschool students.
Mary Ann McQueen, principal of St. Mark school in Venice, CA, started a mindfulness initiative in 2016. Charley pionerered this program by offering meditation in his son's first grade class once a week. This developed into a school-wide mindfulness program. Startwith3 taught mindfulness lessons in years 1 and 2, and is now teaching mindfulness and yoga in year 3.
Reanna Mendoza, principal of Mill School and Technology in Whittier, CA, started mindfulness as a pilot program. Startwith3 taught mindfulness lessons with seven teachers in year 1, and has now transitioned to coaching in year 2.
Bob Bales, principal and superintendent of Kenwood Elementary School in Kenwood, CA, set the intention to promote mindful self care for his teachers. Since then Startwith3 has provided ongoing staff workshops, parent workshops, and in class lessons.
Cindy Zackney, owner of Kava Yoga in Long Beach, CA, reached out to Startwith3 to offer a quality kid's yoga class. Cary teaches a mindful yoga class for 5-8 year olds every Wednesday from 3:30-4:15 pm.
